Mike King

Mike King is the Creator and former Host of The Loadstar Podcast, which he launched in 2021. He now dedicates all his time to The Freight Buyers’ Club, the fast-growing video and podcast platform for global logistics and trade professionals.

An award-winning journalist and consultant with over 20 years’ experience, Mike has edited multiple trade titles, led the news desk at IFW/Lloyd’s Loading List, and reported across Asia for the Journal of Commerce. He was also one of the youngest magazine editors in Lloyd’s history.

He has contributed to The Economist and Business Insider, and continues to offer trusted commentary and insights on international supply chains, policy, and trade.

Mike has twice been named Seahorse Maritime Journalist of the Year (2023 and 2024), and was also runner-up for Multimedia Journalist of the Year in both years. His earlier accolades include Air Cargo Journalist of the Year (2012), News Journalist of the Year (2013 and 2017), and Supply Chain Journalist of the Year (2016). In 2018, he was recognised as the International Road Transport Journalist of the Year by the IRU.
